The Berwang Holiday Music Course is unique in combining a fascinating holiday in a country of great beauty and stunning mountainous scenery with the attraction of music-making for instrumentalists and singers. Berwang (1336m) is an enchanting village, set high up in the Austrian Tyrol. The warmth and friendliness of the local inhabitants together with the variety of leisure activities available make it an ideal setting for a MUSIC HOLIDAY.

This year regrettably sees the departure of Julie Barrett-Major as administrator and web manager. Julie has been dedicated in these roles since 2000, initially helping with the BHMC, and then launching the website followed by both the Bach to Bacchus and Berwang Winter music holidays. From 2007, Julie has sought increasingly to relinquish these voluntary activities as her workload and responsibilities as Director of Intellectual Property of a pharmaceutical company have mushroomed. Julie feels it is now imperative to reserve her minimal free time for truly relaxing pursuits, rather than dealing with yet more I.T. and paperwork (and the occasional awkward customer!). Hopefully, Julie will join as a musicholiday singing member rather than organiser in the future!

21st August - 4th September 2010: 50th year of the Berwang Holiday Music Course with Nick Dowding (strings) and Chris Brown (choir). Do join in the celebrations - past course members particularly welcome, as are those who would like to sample the delights of this unique musicholiday for the first time.
