Course members are required to book and pay for their own flights

The transfer takes approx 3 hours and the costs are divided between the passengers which will be in the region of €75 - €100 return per person. If this is not possible you will be provided with the details alternative travel possibilities.
Option 2: Singers can fly from London Stansted to Memmingen-Allgau on Ryan Air. Unfortunately instruments would need to be carried in the hold, which we do not recommend. A coach/minibus will then collect you to take you to Berwang. The transfer takes about 1.5 hours and the costs are divided between the passengers, which will be in the region of €75-€100 return per person. The cost for 6-18 year olds will be €25 and those under 6 travel free. Those wishing to join the coach/minibus must ensure their flight arrives in Memmingen by 10:00. The departure time on 1 September needs to be after 10:00am. The coach/minibus form Memmingen will need to leave Berwang at 07:15. Please note that the coach/minibus will only operate if financially viable. If this is not possible you will be provided with the details alternative travel possibilities.
Option 3: Car hire is also available at both airports and, should you wish to hire a car, we strongly advise that you book this in advance.
If travelling via other airports you will need to make your own travel arrangements to/from Berwang.
If travelling by rail you can arrange to meet up with the coach at Munich Airport or make your own way to Bichlbach-Berwang station. The station is approx 4km from Berwang itself. Bichlbach is on a small branch line and the train can be caught from Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Reutte. This final part of the journey takes about 40 minutes and, if you let us know what time you will be arriving, we will arrange for you to be collected from Bichlbach.
More information can be found at www.bahn.com/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml
It is possible to drive from southern Britain to Berwang in one day but it is a very long drive. Most people bringing their own car have an overnight stop en route.
One popular stop off is Trittenheim, a village on the Mosel near the border with Luxembourg. Over the years we have established a very good relationship with Christel and Richard Schmitt, who have their own vineyards and produce their own wine in this lovely little village. The Schmitts can provide accommodation, either in their own pension, or they will organise some nearby.
Once in Trittenheim there are good walks through the vineyards, good restaurants and good wine - with the opportunity to taste a variety of the local wines. For further details contact us or look at the Schmitt's website: www.richardswein.de
Please note that this option is not part of the Berwang Holiday Music Course itself and members are expected to make their own arrangements.
Cars can be hired at Munich Airport or at Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Europcar and Avis both have outlets in Garmisch. Berwang is about a 3 hour drive from Munich Airport and about 1 hour from Garmisch.
Should you wish to hire a car for only part of the fortnight a train runs from Bichlbach-Berwang to Garmisch and takes about 40 mins.
