Course members are asked to book their own flights to Munich Airport from where a coach will take you to Berwang. The coach leaves the airport at about 1:00pm local time and the transfer takes about 3 hours. The cost of the coach is divided equally amongst the people using the coach.

From the UK many course members fly from Stansted or Heathrow. If you would like advice about flights please do not hesitate to contact us.

If travelling by rail you can arrange to meet up with the coach at Munich Airport or make your own way to Bichlbach-Berwang station. The station is approx 4km from Berwang. Bichlbach is on a small branch line and the train can be caught from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The journey takes about 40 minutes and if you let us know what time you will be arriving we will arrange for you to be collected from Bichlbach.

It is possible to drive from southern Britain to Berwang in one day but it is a very long drive. Most people bringing their car have an overnight stop en route.

One popular stop off is Trittenheim, a village on the Mosel near the border with Luxembourg. Over the years we have established a very good relationship with Christel and Richard Schmitt, who have their own vineyards and produce their own wine in this lovely little village. The Schmitts can provide accommodation either in their own pension or will organise some nearby.

Once in Trittenheim there are good walks through the vineyards, good restaurants and good wine - with the opportunity to taste a variety of the local wines. For further details contact us or look at the Schmitt's website: www.richardswein.de
