Some years ago, a small group of members of the Berwang Holiday Music Course decided it would be a good idea to set up a 'Friends of BHMC' fund.  The  aim is to raise some extra funds to help the Course in cases where unusual or unexpected costs arise that could not be met from Course Charges (set as much as a year in advance of the Course), provided that such costs are incurred as a necessity for the viability of the Course.  Examples of such costs are those arising from:

• the hire of course music;

• the hire of instruments that are difficult to transport, such as pianos, double bass etc; and

• the transporting of instruments and other necessary equipment to/from Berwang                

The Friends have devised some very imaginative and fun ideas to raise funds, including:

• the sale to Course Members of soft goods (with special thanks to Ann Parkhouse) such as T-shirts and sweat shirts  sporting the BHMC logo - visible at the top, left-hand corner of each web page; music bags, also sporting the BHMC logo; greetings cards (with special thanks to Jean Burrows) raffles; general knowledge quiz evenings; competitive puzzles, riddles and other games; and other events during the course.

Donations are also welcomed from people who have really enjoyed themselves on the Course and these, together with the funds raised, are an invaluable addition to the smooth running of the Berwang Holiday Music Course. 

There is no commercial sponsorship or other funding (scholarships, bursaries, etc) available from or to the Course.
