Among the many activities available to members of the Berwang Holiday Music Course, when not engaged in the scheduled music sessions, are the various entertainments, particularly at dinner times and later in the evenings.  For example, there is the package of entertainments put on by the Hotel Singer  (please click here or in the left border for details).  There are also entertainments organized by the Course Tutors or course members.  

The latter may include the informal concerts; excursions, such as the King Ludwig Musical; or fund-raising but fun activities organized by the Friends.  In addition, there are a variety of bars and other entertainments available in the village, including performances by the village band.

Near the church, at the top of the village, is a band pavilion or Musik Pavilion where the Berwang Village Band or Musik Kapelle performs weekly – not to be missed!  The band pavilion occupies a prime site in the centre of the village; in front of the pavilion is a piazza-style area with a central fountain, some low stone walling and bench seats where you can sit and enjoy an hour's selection of marches, waltzes, polkas  and typical Tyrolean band music.  The band is a mixed ensemble of primarily brass instruments, with a few woodwind and percussion.  It rehearses in the winter and performs in the summer.  The band members are all drawn from Berwang itself and comprises farmers, shopkeepers, hoteliers etc.  The village is very proud of its band and their performances are always popular and well attended.   During the performance, women in local costume circulate among in the audience dispensing schnapps to raise money for band funds.
