Berwang Winter Music Holiday Terms and Conditions |
|
Updated 080618 |
TRAVEL to Berwang is either by our Suggested Route or members may make other arrangements. The Suggested Route is via air from London (Stansted) to Munich and onward by train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Berwang-Bichlbach (approx. 2.25 hours). We shall provide course members with details of the Suggested Route (for self-booking or assisted booking) if so indicated on the booking form.
From
2009 onwards, we regret we are ONLY able to arrange group transport for those
BOTH either joining or meeting the recommended flight at Munich,
outbound, AND either joining the recommended flight or prepared to be be at
Munich airport at the time required by those booked on the recommended flight on
the return; NO individual transportation will be arranged or advised on, due to
the time this takes and to keep administrative costs (and therefore price) to a
minimum.
ACCOMMODATION
is provided in the village in comfortable, modern bed and breakfast pensions,
where members will be cared for in a happy, friendly atmosphere. All rooms
are of a high standard and have en suite
facilities (bath or shower and WC) and the basic charge is based on each person
sharing a double room with another. Single or other types of accommodation
may be available on specific request to the Administrator but at an Additional Charge.
MEALS
are not included in the COURSE CHARGES except for two group evening meals on the
night of arrival in Berwang and the last night, which will involve all course
members. Drinks are not included in the price. All other meals
(lunchtime and evening) are to be arranged and paid for by course members.
SKI
EQUIPMENT/PASSES are to be arranged and paid for by course members; we can
provide some details of local suppliers for price information/advance booking.
MUSICIANS
are expected to take an active part in all scheduled music sessions. We
cannot guarantee to provide viable/balanced ensembles although we shall attempt
to do so; pre-formed groups are especially welcome. Instrumentalists
who are also willing to sing will be at an advantage in the event that
instrumental group(s) are unviable.

A
Booking Fee is charged (not refundable/still payable in event of
cancellation/withdrawal by applicant) to reserve a place on the Course. In
addition to the Booking Fee, BASIC COURSE CHARGES cover 7
nights' shared bed & breakfast accommodation (as above) for the period
of the course; two group meals (not
drinks) on the first & last nights only; and all
music activities in Berwang, the charge
per adult for 2009 being €590, payable in Euro on arrival in Berwang.
Any
ADDITIONAL CHARGES, such as for single accommodation (see above) will be
itemised separately on the invoice. In view of the low course charges, it
is not possible to make any other arrangements regarding payment. All bank
or other transfer or conversion charges must be borne by the course member; all
figures quoted are nett.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
BOOKING APPLICATIONS must be made on the appropriate booking form and be accompanied by the Booking Fee or 'promise to pay'. Requests giving rise to ADDITIONAL CHARGES must be made on the form. All bookings are subject to the conditions specified here or in the brochure. Please keep a copy of your completed booking form (both sides) for reference. Should a member have to cancel or withdraw from the course for any reason, please immediately notify the Administrator in writing. Upon receipt of such notification, CANCELLATION CHARGES (please see below) will apply to the costs itemised above, but not to main travel costs, such as airfares, which are not normally refundable or transferable. Furthermore, the organisers reserve the right to cancel the course owing to circumstances beyond their control, in which case due notice will be given, and any payments returned. The organisers will not accept any responsibility for injury, accident, illness or loss sustained by members or third parties travelling to/from the course or during the course itself. Members are therefore required to take out appropriate (including winter sports if applicable) insurance cover from the date of acceptance on the course until the date of return from the course.
